Cabin 2012

Kiley and I are currently on an awesome trip to the family share-hold cabin near Pagosa Springs, Colorado. It is amazing! We travelled to the cabin the month we were married last year, and it was a great blessing to return and have some quality family time. Here are some of the highlights:

Puzzles, games (the kids' favorite was "Idiot" that Kiley and I taught them in Mexico), and lots of hanging out. We also did some tubing down the river (which was awesome!!!), but we didn't take any pictures.

This puzzle was ridiculously hard! But, in the end we did it. What an accomplishment! :)

Here's little Maddy hanging out in her tube:

Aren't the twins adorable???

Here I am, just hanging out.

Even at the cabin, we couldn't seem to get away from the iPods. Good thing there was limited internet access and phone reception!

We decided that these two could probably pass as twins more readily than the real ones! :)

Kiley's niece Nicole has some mad skillz with nail polish. We tried to convince her to advertise her talent on Facebook under the name of "RGL Nails" (short for "Ridiculously Good-looking Nails") because she could totally turn it into a business! Here is Kiley's nail job:

At the cabin, there are two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a loft with 7 beds. We put two queen-sized air mattresses in the living area and one twin sized air mattress in the loft to fit the entire family. Crazy! Since Devery and Easton did not end up coming, there were a total of 8 adults 9 kids under 18 year old. How fun!

One of our favorite traditions in Pagosa is to go to the Malt Shoppe where they sell awesome ice cream. Their small cones are HUGE and only cost a little more than a dollar. Yippee!

WooHoo! We made it!

Isn't Kiley beautiful? I love the tie-died shirt she made at her work!

Nolan is the man!

Kiley was excited to see a gum-ball machine and quickly bought a couple. Yum! :)

We also took the time to go on some great hikes. Look at the wild-life that we found!

Here are some photos we took of our hike up to the falls:

Zach, Nicole, and Mariah hanging out before our hike

Tyler is enjoying his hike up the mountain.

We thought this would be a good mushroom for Mario to jump on.

After a full 7-minutes of intense hiking, we made it to the falls! Aren't they great? Since it is so late in the season, there is very little water, but that means we could get a LOT closer to the falls than we usually could.

We took the opportunity to take some family photos:

We are having a wonderful time at the cabin and are excited to stay a little longer. We love spending time with family, and I am grateful that I could marry into such a wonderful family as Kiley's! :)

Here is a picture of Kiley's eye that I took while we were on our hike. I hope you like it! :)

I guess that's it for this post! Kiley is finally done with her work for the summer, and I am done with summer school. We have 2 more weeks left before school starts again, and it should be a difficult semester. Kiley will be taking 18 credit hours, and I will be taking 16 credit hours (including Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry of Biological Pathways) as well as working two jobs. Wish us luck! :)
